About Me

Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom
My name is Clare I live in Nottinghamshire and work in education supporting students as my full time job but like to make cards, craft and plan as a hobby. I have recently taken up arigurumi crochet, the perfect autumn/winter hobby. I have also decided after a number of years off to pick up my guitar and learn to play again so due to metal strings and crochet hooks the ends of my fingers are slowly toughening up.

Ugly Bug Does

Hello peeps

This week I have been mostly making things, for the Big Meet on Saturday. Obviously can't post them on here as wouldn't be a surprise for some lovely girlies there.

Yesterday I received my Ugly Bug Does Subscription Box and Oh My Life...... love it.  Pen, Sticker, Charm, Washi and posh Paper Clip.

The  pen is fabulous and writes well too. You can't really see it here but it's full of gems in the top half of the pen.

Absolutely loving this planner charm.... I mean look at it.... really autumnal leaves and the little wee charms on it give that proper Autumn/Halloween feel.

The Washi tape is to die for.... There's a cutey little fox paperclip made by Alyson at Scarlet Moon Crafts and then of course there are the Ugly Bug stickers.

As always the stickers are perfect, fabulous quality and I'm looking forward to decorating my Halloween/Half Term week with them.

I've been a member of the Ugly Bug Design Team for a while so I guess you could say I am biased but if you'd like to check out the quality for yourself then there will be a new box available in November (limited number)

So.... if you want to receive a fabulous stationery box then you need to be logging onto www.etsy.com/uk/shop/UglyBugDoes on I would say the 3rd October when the shop reopens after the Big Meet to have a chance to get one.

Goin' to Have A Good Week!!

Last week was a weird week so this week I decided I was going to have a good week. Last night I had Liver & onions (sorry guys if you don't like but I've not had it for ages and I really enjoyed it), after which I did a bit of planning and then watched one of my favourite actors, Liam Neeson, in Taken (again).

This evening has been spent, taking photos and applying for a DT post with a lovely well known (in the planner world) stationery lady (fingers crossed there).

I've had fun decorating next week in my MAMBI Happy Planner using a free printable digital sticker sheet from www.victoriathatcher.com and I love them, so much that I've used them for the last couple of weeks...lol.  I really do need to get myself a cutting machine that does the work of a pair of scissors and my glasses though.

You will note that the pages are pre-pen, I've not got any appts down as yet only a couple of special birthdays.

I've stamped ready to meal plan in the bottom section and am REALLY REALLY looking forward to next Saturday as I am attending (and this will sound geeky to people not in the planner world) the First Annual UK Planner Addicts Big Meet in Birmingham. I am catching a lift with my friend Michelle who is picking me up on her way through Nottinghamshire from Stockton on Tees and am really looking forward to seeing her again too.

I started a little more crochet last so I need to continue with that, I'm doing a White Rabbit to add to my "Mad Hatter Set" (having done the hare and the dormouse) with a plan to do a purple cat to finish the set of animals off. I will not be crocheting the Mad Hatter himself....lol. I'll leave that one to experts.

Any questions on planning, please feel free to comment below and I will answer what I can and ask the experts what I don't know.

Long Time No See

Hi it has been some time since I added to my blog, over a year in fact....  I tried Facebook for a little while but my personal life then suffered some upheaval so I let that slip too.

It is now time however to return to blogging and commit time to my crafts. I may need to rename my blog as I do not just do cards any more. I have expanded into decorated MDF plaques, wall art, mixed media pictures and have recently, as in the last two months, taken up arigurumi, after purchasing a Toft kit from Create and Craft.  I don't have children to give these animals too but I think they are so cute, I just decided to make them anyway.

I still make cards but have gotten heavily into planning (that'll be decorated diaries to the uninitiated). I love that my once boring Filofax now looks colourful and it's still easy to see at a glance what appts. etc I have during the week. Here's a week before I add any appts.

Sorry the picture is a little dark, it's late and I don't have a daylight bulb in my living room ;-)

So that's my welcome back to the world, hope you are all enjoying life, I am and I look forward to sharing my crafting with you in the very near future.

Enjoy the little things

I love this tag. An MDF tag covered firstly in a paper from the House of Zandra. Using some ditsy flower stamps
from Dreamees printed and cut out of the same paper.

I then stamped a Dreamees sentiment into cream card and layered it onto green linen card.

I distressed the edges, of everything in Tim Holtz "Iced Spruce".

I added some AB white pearls to finish off the item.

Teacup card in a box....Yep that's what I said...

Made this beautiful creation using a CD-ROM from the House of Zandra. I love it. This shows the card in the box.
And here we have the card 😊

Just enough room in the teacup for a sachet or two of coffee or tea bags if you're wanting to give them a drink on you 😊 or a bottle of nail polish or crime egg maybe.

Hope you like it

It's Coming.....

Long time since I've been around....

I thought I best make a start on Christmas. Made by layering silver Miri card, with embossed white card and some mistletoe papers & tags from Creat n Craft TV. I cut out a Robin shape from some lovely music print paper and inked his chest. I finished off colouring a couple of sticky back pearls to add red accents and grey for his eye (using graph-it pens).  Happy with the result.
